What “fitted” actually includes

Every price we quote is the price you pay at the kerb. It covers the tyre, fitting, balancing, a new valve, and taking your old tyre away for recycling.

That matters because the trade is not consistent about it. A quote that looks twenty pounds cheaper often is not, once disposal and the valve appear at the end. Ours is one number, given before the van leaves.

Why mobile is not a compromise

The usual assumption is that a mobile fitter is a garage with the corners cut. It is the wrong way round: the van carries the same balancer a garage bolts to the floor, and the wheel never leaves your sight.

What you lose is the ramp, which matters for alignment and not much else. What you gain is not driving on a flat, not sitting in a waiting room, and not leaving the vehicle for a day.

Where we stop

We work inside what is safe to do at the roadside. A vehicle on a slope, on soft ground, or in live traffic does not get jacked — it gets moved or recovered first, and we will tell you that on the phone rather than on arrival.

We also will not fit a tyre we think is wrong for the vehicle. If the load rating or speed rating is below what the plate calls for, we will say so and fit the correct one.

What is on the van for your size?

The three numbers off your sidewall, or your registration. You will see everything we carry in that fitment, fitted price included, and the next window we can get to you.

Every price is fitted at your address, balanced, with the old tyre taken away and the valve replaced. Nothing is added at the van.

Questions

Mobile tyre fitting questions

Is the price you quote the price I pay?

Yes. Fitting, balancing, the valve and disposal are all in it. If we find something on arrival that changes the job we tell you the new figure before we touch it.

How long does one wheel take?

About forty-five minutes on site, including balancing. Four wheels is closer to ninety minutes, not four times as long, because the van is already set up.

Do you need power or water?

No. The van is self-contained. We need somewhere to park alongside and enough room to get the wheel off.

What if the wheel nut is locking and I have lost the key?

We can usually remove it — that is a separate £40 job and we will tell you before we start rather than after.

Can you fit tyres I have already bought?

Yes, £25 a wheel including balancing. We check the fitment and the date code first.

Do you do run-flats?

Yes, and we carry the common sizes. They need the correct equipment to avoid damaging the sidewall on fitting.
