What we hold when we come to your address, why we hold it, and what we do not do with it.
Roadline Mobile Tyres Ltd is the data controller. Registered in England and Wales, company number 10884203, at Depot 6, Gladstone Road, Northampton, NN5 5HE. For anything about your data, email fitting@roadlinemobiletyres.co.uk or ring 01604 512 880.
A mobile trade holds something a shop does not: your home address, tied to your vehicle and your phone number, along with a record of when a van was there.
We treat that accordingly. Addresses are held in our booking system and visible to the fitters working that day, and nowhere else. They are never sold, never passed to a marketing list, and never used to work out anything about you beyond where to park the van.
If you would rather we held the postcode only after the job is done, say so and we will trim the record. It makes a repeat booking slightly slower and that is the whole of the cost.
| What for | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Quoting a fitted price for your vehicle | Steps taken at your request before a contract |
| Getting the van to the right address at the right time | Performance of our contract with you |
| Keeping a record of what was fitted to which vehicle | Our legitimate interests in supporting the work afterwards |
| Texting you when the van is on its way | Performance of our contract with you |
| Invoices, VAT and accounting | Compliance with a legal obligation |
| Reminders when your tyres are near the limit | Your consent, withdrawable at any time |
| Record | Kept for | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Enquiries that never became a booking | 12 months | People ring back, and it saves you repeating the size |
| Job records and what was fitted | 6 years | The limitation period for contract claims under the Limitation Act 1980 |
| Addresses | 6 years, or postcode only on request | So a repeat booking does not start from scratch |
| Invoices and accounting records | 6 years | HMRC requires tax and VAT records for six years |
| Reminder list | Until you unsubscribe | Consent, withdrawn when you say so |
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it where we have no legal reason to keep it, to restrict what we do with it, to send it to another provider, or to stop marketing at any time. Email us and we will respond within one month at no charge.
One honest limit: where a record is kept because HMRC or the Limitation Act requires it, we cannot delete it early even if you ask.
Tell us first — most things are sorted the same day. If you are not satisfied you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
